A Quick Note to Graham Before Maternity Leave Ends

Graham,

This wasn’t the maternity leave I envisioned, but you are exactly the son I prayed for: quiet, calm, and content.

All I have to do is make eye contact with you and you immediately light up. Thank you for being my constant ray of sunshine.

Your beaming smile and twinkling eyes have been like a beacon of hope during this scary, stressful, and surreal time in the world.

I’m disappointed I couldn’t give you my undivided attention and that visitors and errands/adventures were limited, but I’m so happy I’ve been able to spend these last 12 crazy weeks with you snuggling on the couch and pushing you in the stroller.
