Happy 3rd Anniversary
Three years ago I woke up with butterflies in my stomach to a morning much like today’s where the sun was shining and birds were chirping. It was as if Summer was trying to hold on as long as she could but you could feel the chilly dampness of Fall approaching in the air.
Waves of nerves rolled through me during the day, an excited nervousness much like the feeling a basketball player gets before tip off or the quiet demeanor an actor has moments before curtain call.
Perhaps it was the shot of whiskey straight from the bottle, but all my anxiety, questions, and concerns drifted away the moment I saw my future husband on our wedding day.
For the past 3 years he has been a calming presence when I feel anxious, which unfortunately, is quite often these days as I learn my new role as “mom.”
My husband has been my biggest supporter, confidant, and teammate. We pledged our vows and proclaimed to love each other “in sickness and health”, which has been one of the most trying challenges we faced this year after having our son December 2017. Through 6 months of me having back-to-back illnesses, he continues to be helpful, optimistic, and make me laugh everyday.
Happy Anniversary Jason. Thank you for always taking such wonderful care of our family.
